2018 Special Events

2018 will be a exciting year in Montezuma.  Our community will be host to two big events, and we are looking forward to  celebrating fun in the Montezuma Summer!  Stay tuned to this page for info on both RAGBRAI and Montezuma's 150th Celebration.

There are a lot of ways to get involved in this exciting day that will see thousands of cyclists and support personnel make their may through our City.  

Community meetings will be held on the following dates:
  • Sunday, April 29th, 5PM at the Memorial Hall
  • Monday, May 14th, 6PM at the Memorial Hall

150th Celebration - Friday, August 24th & Saturday, August 25th
Presentation1Montezuma will be hosting its sesquicentennial celebration the end of summer with a two-day celebration highlighting our community and 150 Years of Home!  

The schedule for the event is still tentative but will include a Friday night tailgate, bonfire, street dance, barbeque smoke-off, Montezuma Mile & 5K, bathtub races, dunk tank, live music, kids games and more!  The final schedule will be posted on this web page as details are finalized so stay tuned!

Meanwhile, support the 150th Celebration by joining the Monte 150 Club or picking up some 150 Years of Home apparel!  Apparel is available at Montezuma City Hall and Montezuma State Bank.  Family and friends from out of town may also call City Hall and order apparel which can be shipped to them.  Cash, check and credit card are accepted.
