Montezuma Ministerial Association
The Ministerial Association gathers regularly to plan community events throughout the year, including Lenten prayer breakfasts, July 4th ecumenical worship, and a community Thanksgiving service. The association also provides spiritual encounters for residents at area care facilities. Working together to serve local benevolence, these area pastors also shepherd needs in partnership with the Food Panty & Clothes Closet.
Montezuma Food Pantry & Clothes Closet
The Montezuma Food Pantry & Clothing Closet is sponsored by the Montezuma Ministerial Association and under the direction of local retired pastor, Virgil Scott. The agency is supported by donations from churches, individuals, the school, businesses, and organizations either through monetary giving or through provisions brought in. The pantry is not government funded. Food is purchased through the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, a member of the Feed-ing America program. The Montezuma Food Pantry follows criteria and guidelines for participation with the NEIA FB. Food, including meat and produce (when available), as well as personal care items are stocked. The pantry also offers a free clothing for those in need. The pantry’s location is at 103 Circle V Ranch Road, Montezuma, IA 50171. Pantry hours are Monday 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Tuesday 2:00-4:30 p.m., Thursday 4:30-7:00 p.m., and every third Saturday of the month 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. The Clothing Closet is located at 411 East Main Street, Montezuma, IA 50171.
